let’s go crazy, crazy, crazy ~ planning a bachelorette party

When you’re living through the ‘wedding season’ of your life {which I define as the time when more of your friends are engaged than married & single}, you’re bound to hear a lot about parties. And one of the hot topics is definitely the bachelorette party.

This time last year, I was prepping for a ‘Brunch-to-Brunch” bachelorette weekend in NYC, complete with a pole dancing lesson. I’ve also heard of wine tastings, perfume or pottery making classes, and the classic ‘Girls Night Out’ theme. I think the most outrageous was when a co-worker was ‘forced’ to take a 4-day weekend to a tropical island under the guise of a ‘fling before the ring’ {let’s just say over $1,000 later, she didn’t appreciate the so-called vacation}.

Drama & expenses aside, I love that there’s new ground breaking for what’s expected of a bachelorette party. Not every girl is thrilled {or even comfortable} with the prospect of an overly girly or super raunchy bachelorette party. It could be fun to push her out of her comfort zone, but I think there’s a lot of opportunity to think about the bride and what she would have most fun doing on her ‘last night’ as a single lady.

The bride I’m currently planning a bachelorette for is one of those girls who doesn’t fit into the bachelorette party mold. So, when I thought about her party, I wanted to hit some girly high points {glitter and champagne are simply non-negotiables for me}, throw in a heavy dose of pink, and just a dash of sexy.

It’s been a challenge to find bachelorette ideas/images that break the mold {even on my beloved Pinterest}, but I think my vision is tied up in a bow with this inspiration board:

As usual, invitations almost always show up on my boards {hello… I <3 paper goods} and this one is from Wedding Paper Divas, a site I just can’t get enough of.  They have all kinds of invites from save the dates to full-blown wedding invite suites to bridal shower and bachelorette invites.

Take it from me, there are plenty to choose from. So, if you’re lucky enough to be planning a beach party getaway, this invite is the way to go {adorable!} or for something fancier, like a tea party, you could go with this option.

After all is said and done, I’m hoping to pull off a classy, just slightly girly, fun & memorable party full of laughs.. and maybe just a little naughty {*wink}.
