one of the girls ~ pretty in pink pants

Spring has never been my favorite time of year. The weather is too unpredictable and I’m just itching for warm summer sun that always takes too long to arrive.  Plus, I always have a hard time dressing for 55-65 degree weather.  It must be because it requires some thoughtful layering as the mornings are chilly, the sun can really heat up midday and then events out often require a jacket – and sometimes rain boots! I can mix & match my individual pieces and pair with a cute shoe and necklace, but I’ve never been a master layerer {new word?}.

But, one of my go-to pieces for the spring months is cropped skinny jeans or capris – especially in denim or white. Denim is obvious, but can easily get boring. White pairs so easily with so many things and looks just a bit “springy”… but they also get dirty VERY easily.

Enter, pastels.

I should preface this with the fact that I’ve never EVER been a pastel person. But, for some reason these pale pink skinnies jumped out at me at LOFT earlier this spring and with a friends & family coupon, I got them for about $40. I figured if I only wore them a few times, it’d still be worth it.

But, I’ve actually started wearing them regularly and finding that they pair easily with a lot of what’s already in my closet. I can wear them with flats and a chunky sweater, wedges and a blazer, or even sandals and a flowy top. It all seems to work – and somehow, I’ve become a pale pink kinda girl.
