what it should be ~ 1 week in CO

I’m not sure whether I’ve raved enough about the Colorado lifestyle lately. Just in case, I thought I’d quickly share my crazy active week. I don’t do it to brag about my life {we all have problems, amiright?} — I just know that up until a year ago, I never imagined life to be like this. Relaxed, enjoyable, and not all about work. And who knows, maybe it’ll inspire one of you to come visit or check it out sometime.

Several months ago, I purchased a Bloomspot certificate for 15 Zumba classes at a small studio in Denver {sign up if you haven’t — I find some of the most unique deals there, better than Groupon & Living Social combined}. Once you start going, you have to finish them within 3 months and my spring didn’t allow for much of that. Plus, I figured why not stack them up close to the wedding — hopefully it has the dual effect of keeping me thin & fit while also building dance-worthy stamina for our reception {hello live band!}.

Seeing as I hadn’t done a true work-out in several months {I know… I’m horrible}, the class was pretty killer but my instructor made the cutest noises and little cheers to keep you going. Plus, I really didn’t want to look like the only totally uncoordinated one in the room, so that forced me to work hard.

On Wednesday, I got the distinct pleasure of going for a hike instead of being in the office from 2-5pm. Score! Another reason I love my company and love what I do. Team building in it’s best form {plus we were rewarded with a delicious farm-to-table dinner at Salt in Boulder afterwards — double score!).

Thursday morning I woke up early to attend a yoga class courtesy of another fabulous co-worker. I’m by no means a yogi — I lose major points in the flexibility area {yep, can’t even touch my toes} but it was still such a lovely way to start the day. Maybe I should reconsider not working out before work…

Admist all of this, I managed to purchase all of the paper for our wedding invitations {whoops, we’re totally behind but I promise they’re in progress!} and start a new project. I didn’t plan to do this, but Paper SourceΒ can be a dangerous placeΒ if you like craft projects. Here’s a little sneak preview…

I can’t claim that this was a normal week, but it feltΒ amazing to be that active. In my case, it’s always hard to convince myself to fit in a workout, but boy was each one rewarding. Luckily now that summer is here, there’s really no excuse to walk, jog, bike ride and hike a whole lot more. So until the next adventure…
