a little sunshine – etsy for weddings

Etsy has by far been one of my favorite resources throughout wedding planning. I’m sure most of you have heard of it or even used it {I had only made 1 purchase before wedding planning}, but it’s been a source for so much inspiration and unique ideas. Plus, I absolutely love the idea of supporting local / smaller artists and artisans versus big corporations. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not opposed to the deals you can find at Target, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels but there’s something special about knowing someone handmade something for you for your wedding.

I am a DIY-er myself, but there were still many elements I learned about or enhanced my own projects with through Etsy. One of those areas is in stamps. I don’t think there’s any brick-and-mortar store where you can find such unique and even customizable stamps. But boy, can you find anything on Etsy! Plus — most vendors I’ve experienced are willing to make custom orders, give you deals on bulk orders, and are just generally very pleasant to work with.

So, because I’ve developed an entire “favorites” list for stamps during my Etsy hunts, I thought I’d share a few with you here:

This Etsy shop has some incredibly cute return address stamps, ranging from simple with block letters to scripty and whimsical. They are pre-inked stamps that are easy to grasp and control, plus they come packaged in a nice cardboard box. I can say from experience that these are nearly fail-proof and extremely convenient. A friend made the smart decision to use this vendor and I was very impressed with the quality and ease of use {and she had far fewer ruined envelopes than I did}.

The stamps from this store just blow me away with how freaking adorable they are!

I haven’t yet ordered anything from them, but with >700 reviews, 100% of which are positive, I have a feeling they would be great! As you can see, they have everything from phrases to designs, to save the date and address stamps.

This may be the best designed 2×2″ square I’ve ever seen.

I want this entire set of speech bubble stamps! Can you imagine all the ways you could use them?

Sweet Paperie

This return address stamp didn’t fully match our invitation designs, but I probably should’ve ordered it anyways, I like it so much. I guess the next time we move I can revisit it. Plus they have many more cute options in the shop!

Unique return address stamp

As overly-ambitious designers, T-man and I decided to design our own custom address label and used My Clear Stamps to create it. The stamp itself is exactly what we designed and was created and shipped quickly. But, we made our names quite long and the address quite small. Since it’s not self-inking, you had to be very careful not to rock it back and forth on the stamp pad or on your paper, otherwise you’d end up with a sloppy mess. As a result, our stamping was definitely not perfect {as you can see below}.

Patience is key in stamping, but if you’re considering ordering a return address stamp for wedding invitations, I strongly recommend a self-inking, pre-designed one and can’t say enough good things about MyStamp.

Stamping is definitely not the only fun discovery I’ve made on Etsy so if you like this post, I’ll be back with more of my favorites soon!
