comparison vs. joy

A new project {which I’m just dying to tell you all about soon!} has me tackling some long-overdue projects around these parts. You may’ve noticed some changes that aren’t all complete yet and while they may look small, they’re actually part of a massive move from WordPress.com to WordPress.org. {I like to think} I’m pretty savvy when it comes to technology but this was WAY hard and gave me another reason to love and cherish my husband and his techno-wizard brain.

I’m also filling my feedly with all sorts of new content to keep me inspired and in touch with more of the blogging world {more link love to come soon!}. While it’s been fun discovering so many gorgeous blogs, I started comparing myself and felt a bit lacking. I don’t post often enough, I don’t have a home tour {yet!}, I haven’t fully grasped all the ways to monetize a blog. It’s so easy to get caught up in all of your shortcomings, right?

But then I stumbled upon this wonderful post from Lisa over at Elembee about not comparing yourself to others because you don’t always know the full story — we’re all just figuring things out for ourselves and our path.

It immediately reminded me of a quote I pinned WAY back when I first joined Pinterest…

Don't Let Comparison Steal Your Joy

Wouldn’t you know it, I’d never clicked through to find the source and when I did, it was designed by the same blogger/designer, Elembee!

So there you have it, I was serendipitously saved from moody introspection by the blogging community only to be fueled and inspired to keep going. Another reminder of why I’m here, doing what I’m doing.

PS – Total pet peeve of mine, but I hate when pins don’t link to the right places. TIP: Open an images.google.com window and drag the pin into the search bar. Nine times out of ten, it’ll show the original source!

If all blogs were the same that would really suck for my feedly! Your blog will blossom just like you have in real life 😉
