weekend recap // tourists in our town

So tell me, how was your weekend? Mine was more like a mini-vacation because some of our dear friends arrived on Thursday and I got to play hooky with them!

9.22-GeorgetownFirst, we visited Georgetown, Colorado and stumbled upon the cutest electric stove EVER.

We also made a visit to the Chihuly blown glass exhibit at the Denver Botanical Gardens. I was surprised to see the glass sculptures were placed among the plants and flowers and the effect of art + nature combined was beautiful!

Then we closed out baseball season with one more round of fireworks at the Rockies. Lucky for us, the Rockies dominated the game and we got to see a grand slam!9.22-Rockies

On Saturday, a group of friends had arranged to take a “party bus” to Fort Collins to tour some of the breweries there. The party bus turned out to be a school bus painted black and decked out in snakeskin seats and lucite detailing. So swanky!

9.22-FoCo 9.22-NewBelgiumBrewery The New Belgium brewery is truly a must-see for anyone visiting Colorado. It’s well-worth the hour-plus drive to Fort Collins, but the tours are booked a month out. I think nearly every person must leave the tour wanting to work there — it’s a fully employee-owned, ESOP company with a 97% retention rate. Plus, they make beer for a living!

To cap off a wonderful weekend, I also found out my older sister eloped, which means I officially have a BROTHER for the first time ever. How fun! So SO happy for these two!

You may remember Tara’s beautiful work from this wedding I showcased — which just so happens to feature the very same friends who visited this weekend. And there you have it, the weekend came full circle!
