Cozy Purple Baby Shower

I’m very overdue in sharing this adorable baby shower with you. So overdue in fact that the baby we celebrated has not only been born, but is about 2 months old now!

But, let’s not dwell on that. There is far too much sweet, girly cuteness and lots of decadent-looking treats to focus on instead!

This party is a perfect example of how Bubbly Design Co. can help you craft a creative, thoughtful but still simple to pull off party. In this case, Patty was already in the midst of planning this event when she contacted us. Bubbly Design Co. helped concept and design the invites and the “dear baby” card insert, as well as assisted with decoration and menu ideation and finally, we assisted with day-of coordination { and photography! }.

The party was held on an early Saturday afternoon so we kept the food and drinks fairly simple, focusing on a few light munchies like crackers, and my favorite blueberry-crusted goat cheese from Trader Joe’s, some fruit, and popcorn. In my opinion, you can never go overboard on a dessert table, though! So, we splurged there and had had cake, cookies, and macaroons!

In a stroke of brilliance I am sure to copy for future events, Patty’s aunt set up her antique tea set, complete with cups, saucers, and rock candy stirrers. It was the exact girly and whimsical touch the party needed!

A few simple decorations are usually all you need to turn a clean, comfortable living room into a party space. I always recommend fresh flowers, some poofs or inexpensive Chinese lanterns, and one statement piece. Inspired by one of my party pins, Patty DIY’ed an adorable garland of baby onesies!

One of my favorite tricks to make any “guest of honor” more comfortable while opening gifts is to have a game or other party activity to distract her. For the baby shower, we included a “Dear Baby” card with the invitation, which friends and family filled out with well-wishes for mama & baby. Our sweet mama, Tiffanie, read several aloud to the group in between gift opening, which helped break up the flow and kept things from feeling monotonous.

Especially for baby showers, consider whether children will be in attendance and if so, try to be prepared with things to distract them. Our rock candy was a big hit, as were iPads from mom. { Side note: I photographed these two for easily 5 minutes without them flinching or even looking up! So adorable! }

That about wraps it up, but I have to leave us on a sweet note! Just one more snap of the sweets display. I can’t get enough!
