Our Personalized Christmas Cards with Minted

After tons of hunting, and several saved drafts, T-man and I settled on a Christmas card design from Minted this year. Since the cards have been mailed out, I thought I’d share a quick look at the card we selected plus a few ways we personalized our mailings.

We didn’t have criteria or a specific design in mind when we set out, but a few things caught our eye about Minted and we eventually selected the Family Album design.

I’ve used Minted for a few wedding-related items in the past  { including this bridal shower brunch invite } and was always impressed with the weight of their paper, ease of online shopping and speed of delivery.

But, it was really the design that sold us. We saw several beautiful options that we loved, but we are admittedly both Instagram addicts, so we couldn’t resist the square photo layout in this one. Since we didn’t have professional photos taken, this card also allowed us to select several “day in the life” images instead of focusing all the attention on one iPhone snapshot.

I also love that the photos sort of tell the story of our year, too, displaying everything from hiking with Petey, to our visit to Chicago, to a quiet night on the couch.

Once the design and photos were selected, I knew I wanted to do a few extra things to make our holiday mailing feel just a touch more customized to us.

First, I love having the option to customize the back size of the card. Instead of adding another photo, I designed a quick holiday message to our friends and family. It’s the same message I would send to all of you this time of year:

Cheers to the new year!
May it be filled with adventure, good times & lasting memories.
Wishing you all the best in 2015!
From the Padulas

Minted also offers free recipient address printing, which took the design up a notch. There were several options to choose from but I loved that the red trees coordinated with our card design.

Plus, talk about saving time! I didn’t have to write out a single name or address, I simply updated and uploaded our address list and it was all handled electronically.

Minted will also print your return address for an added charge. We opted to use th self-inking stamp we bought for our wedding from MyStamp on Etsy. I cannot recommend their stamps enough! The designs are simple but cute, and the stamp works flawlessly. Plus, I’ve gotten at least 350 stamps out of it with no signs of drying up!

For our final bit of personalization, we looked to stamps. Not just the stamps for mailing { which of course, I selected the holiday claymation characters that I adore } but also a decorative stamp for the outside of the envelope.

What better way to scream The Padulas and make people smile than with a gold stamp of a Boston Terrier wearing a santa hat!?! I about died when I found this stamp at Paper Source { it doesn’t appear to be available online, but you may find it in stores }.
