A New Pair of Glasses with Warby Parker

Can you tell I’m loving this fall we’re having in New York?

Ever since September, the weather has been picture perfect and we’ve been making the most of it with hiking, apple picking, dining al fresco, and even boat cruising just a few weeks ago. So, when Warby Parker asked me to show how frames from their new collection could fit into some of my favorite fall moments for their #FallSyllabus campaign, well let’s say I just jumped at the chance for a little photo shoot.

Since age 18 I’ve been a habitual contact-wearer and always looked at my glasses as my late-night-only or somewhat “bummy” look. I never invested in a stylish pair because I couldn’t find anything that I felt complemented versus completely altered my look. To be totally honest, I didn’t wear glasses often enough so I never felt fully myself whenever I did wear them.

But the more I spend long days in front of screens {and okay, maybe the older I get}, I notice that my eyes need a break every once and a while. I’ve started wearing glasses at least once a week and try to look at them more as an accessory, something that can complete and even accentuate an outfit. This makes it a little more fun to find ways to style them versus feeling like they are only a lazy-day or tired-eyes option.

And in case you haven’t heard yet, Warby Parker is the way to go when it comes to finding fun, stylish frames. Not only do they have a base price of $95 including prescription lenses, {and they accept your FSA card if you have some dollars to use up before the end of the year!}, they donate a pair of glasses to someone in need for every purchase, PLUS they have an amazing home try-on program that lets you “test drive” five pairs at a time.

I’ve done the home try-on three times now so it’s really time to stop being indecisive. My latest favorites are the Downing in Jet Black and the Keene in Beach Glass {also available in Burnt Lemon Tortoise, which is new for Fall 2015}. Both added something unique to this cozy weekend outfit, perfect for a day spent among the falling leaves.

I also tried Casper in Jet Black, also from the new collection, Durand in Whiskey Tortoise, and Chamberlain in Crystal. I really liked the chunkiness of the Capser frames but something about the bridge of the nose didn’t sit right on me. Durand would also be a front runner except they just slightly overwhelmed my narrow face. And well, Chamberlain… I didn’t expect to like but just had to test out a clear pair!

So which one do you think I should get? I would love your opinions! Or should I save my money for a pair of prescription sunglasses like these?
