What I’d Buy For Summer (if I wasn’t pregnant)

What to Buy This Summer // Summer Shopping Wish Listvia

This may sound like a sad title for a post, but I promise it’s not! For months, I’ve been on a constant hunt for ways to stay stylish and comfortable while pregnant (more on those adventures here). It’s truly been a constant hunt. Luckily, I don’t hate shopping — or browsing — but it’s still been pretty all-consuming.

But, within the past few days, a switch seemed to go off where I could envision a future without the bump. Everyone says I’ll miss it and I completely understand that I won’t be back in pre-maternity styles immediately. (Also, I’m sure I won’t dress the same during my maternity leave). But, hey! Entertaining the idea of what to buy for summer if I wasn’t pregnant actually brought me a little bit of joy and excitement so I’m going with it.

Plus, for those of you who are not pregnant, I figured you might like a little non-maternity inspiration. So here’s a look at my summer style wish list.**

***Truly a wish list since none of this would actually fit right now!

Summer Wishlist // What I'd Buy This Summer if I wasn't Pregnant

I have to admit, I miss the days of belts, skirts, and generally anything that hits at the waist. A few friends recommended a jersey-style skirt for pregnancy (like this one), but I couldn’t quite make it work. I usually reach for less form-fitting skirts like a pleated midi or this one. Now I’m on the hunt for some elastic waist options that I can ease into come August.

Jumpsuits and rompers are another great style for summer. I would totally invest in something trendy and inexpensive like this one if I wasn’t pregnant! And if this Madewell style is still around come July, I just might need it…

High-waisted jeans (or even cropped flares) paired with a slightly cropped top is another pipe dream during pregnancy. There’s really just no way to translate it around the bump. But, since I’m thinking high-waisted jeans will be a total must after Baby P is here, I’ve got my eye on this distressed option.

I’ve also been dying for a silk cami that goes with everything. An investment piece like this seems totally worth it, but more realistic once I’m actually back at work, and maybe out of baby spit-up phase.

What’s on your summer wish list?
